Planning on a budget trip ? Part 2

After we did some homework for the surrounding areas of XiMenDing, we choose Swiio Hotel.
Swiio Hotel, View from the streets at night
Lobby located at the 6th Floor
5th Floor - the first thing i see once the lift is open
 the 5th floor corridor
My room for the next 4 nights !

We checked in on 2nd Nov, so after i make confirmation with this hotel, i actually email them secretly and ask for some special requests. Balloons to be in my room and a small choc cake to be served to my room at 11.59pm ! And they are so willing to help me, and of cos i did pay them for the decorations and the cake. When we first enter the room , it was just a normal without any decorations because i have instructed them to do it when im out for dinner at decorate it at about 8pm onwards.

The very neat & clean room

Clean toilets
Total there are 24 balloons (my hubby age) & each balloons is tied with our photos. =)

Small little surprise for my hubby as if im going to propose with him. hahaha! its seems that i pay the hotel myself and prepare the surprise for myself. Lol..
The small small birthday cake
Our tired look with the cake =) Happy Birthday Hubby!! Love you!

Planning on a budget trip ? Part 1

Whenever I plan to go overseas, normally i would do some homework and find out some background about that country.

Lets say about Taiwan first as my last visit to Taipei was on 2rd Nov 2013 to 6th Nov 2013 (5D4N).

My hubby and I plan to go on Nov 2013 is because his 24th Birthday falls on the 3rd Nov. So we intend to celebrate his birthday overseas.

1) Confirm the dates
The best thing is that you can travel on any dates. Have to be flexible on the dates because just a one day difference and the air tickets can cost a lot more.

2) Airlines
Have to google and check which airlines are now are having those $0 fares or twin deals or any other promotions.

3) Hotels
Normally i will either book directly from the hotel itself if not i will book through http://www.agoda.com/ . I know there's a few more other websites that also offers cheap hotels. So must make comparison first. I wont pay extra for the breakfast in the hotel, because the amount i paid for the hotel breakfast is so much more. I would rather go downstairs and eat their local breakfast.

If planning on a budget trip, hotels and air tickets are the main factors and normally these two are the main cost of the trip.
No meals are provided. We did ate quite a heavy breakfast before boarding but when we started to see and smell our neighbors food, my hubby started to be hungry. End up buying that really small portion of Nasi Lemak for $12 (i think).

I would also search for Taiwan Tourism Board in SG and called them and ask if there's any goodies or any free items that i could use during period of time i'm traveling to  Taiwan. Every quarters of the year they have different goodies. This time round i was given these 2 bus tickets, 2 coupons to exchange for a mini box of pineapple tarts and also a discount coupon for the 小人国 theme park. A few years back i was given a limited edition ez-link card so when im in taiwan i just need to top it up will do.

When we arrived in Taipei, we need to go to the basement (Bus Terminal) and ride the free bus. There are many different kinds of bus and they travel to different places. As we are staying at XiMenDing, i manage to find a bus that can drop us at a MRT station which is just a few stops away from XiMenDing station.

Happy 1 Year 8 Months ROM Wedding Anniversary

Happy 1 Year 8 Months ROM Wedding Anniversary Dear !!

1 Year plus ago , both of us said "I do" and signed on that piece of paper. I'm really happy that I have found you and made the right decision. =D Love you Dear Dear!~~

Yesterday went to 89.7 @ Changi Village for dinner. The food there is not bad, prices are abit ex but still affordable, the only problem is the location which is quite far away from my house (approx 20mins drive). Lots of malays and army boys love to go there for dinner or supper. But still a great place for late night supper. Opposite the streets, there's quite a few of pastry shops and a cafe. Went to try the Crepes & Puff and brought a Mango crepe for $3.50. The mango inside was quite thick, would go and try out the Mao Shan Wang Crepe next time.

Chinese New Year Preparation

With Chinese New Year around the corner, retail shops are already selling decorations as well as red packets to welcome the festive new year on January 31.

Major retail outlets are also offering attractive discounts. The Chinese will be ushering in the year of the horse.

Those born in the year of the horse are generally believed to be strong spirited and energetic.

Went to Chinatown on Monday to buy some decorations.
*大吉大利* The God Of Wealth will sway left & right.
Means good luck and prosperity!
*馬上錢*  At the back of the Horse there's real coins and there's real grains of rice too!
 Means straight away got money.
*福袋* - good fortune bag

* this Horse has got real hair on the body ! Hehe ! *
  *身体健康* - Good Health

After shopping at Chinatown, went to Geylang for supper.
